Carl D. Perkins Career Center Pays
$5.00 per day per child, 5 years old - 12 years old
$10.00 per day per child, birth - 4 years old
The student is authorized to qualify up to two children per semester. The assistance is paid for days that Navarro College classes are in session. Days the college is closed will not be covered and is the student's responsibility. Childcare awards will be paid directly to licensed and registered daycare providers at the end of each month, based on a completed billing request form. It is the student's responsibility to ensure both criteria of the childcare provider are met:
(1) The childcare provider is both licensed and registered with the State of Texas. One can go to the Texas Department of Family Services website to view all licensed & registered facilities.
(2) The childcare provider will accept childcare assistance payment from Navarro College.
Please be attentive when selecting a provider, as childcare changes from this application will not be allowed. Be sure to consider if the childcare facility is open hours that meet your needs while in school (some programs run very early morning or late-night hours).
***IMPORTANT***
Navarro College will not duplicate childcare service already being received by the student from another source. For example, a student may not receive CCMS/CCS assistance from Texas Workforce and Navarro College Carl D. Perkins at the same time. If you are receiving childcare assistance service from another source, you are not eligible for this service.
All Carl D. Perkins Career Center childcare awards are based on major, special population status and economic need.
