Nature Based Project Ideas

Do you know of a natural area in need of improvement? We want to hear about it!

With funding from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF) under the National Coastal Resilience Fund (NCRF), WMSRDC is developing a prioritized list of nature-based projects within our five-county region. Potential projects include stabilizing stream banks, lake shorelines, and critical dunes with native plantings, installation of woody material, and natural staking; replacing perched and undersized culverts with open span bridges or appropriately sized culverts; reducing the impacts of stormwater with bioretention areas, native plantings, and constructed wetlands; and other corresponding natural habitat improvements.
